Our Organization

Greetings!

We are a hardy band of brain injury survivors and family members trying to make a difference, and we urge you to get involved - just call us at 1-800-516-8052 or email us at info@abin-pa.org.

Our organization is dedicated to increasing public awareness about acquired brain injury, and to providing support, education, information, advocacy and other services for individuals with acquired brain injury and their families.

We are all volunteers, and our activities are funded by donations from survivors, family members, friends, rehabilitation facilities, professionals, support groups, and businesses.

As you can imagine, we are always in need of funds, especially to cover our printing costs.  We are always mailing and handing out materials at every opportunity. We would welcome your donations, large or small. You can donate directly from this website - or you are welcome to send checks to:

ABIN-PA, c/o Barbara Dively, President, 2275 Glenview Drive, Lansdale, PA 19446

Our activities are free and open to all including our monthly board meetings, monthly mailing parties, annual picnic, winter holiday party, and various other events which are listed in the newsletter. We are always looking for volunteers to help with information tables, presentations, and police training. At all of our events, we enjoy sharing our lives, and encouraging each other on the road to recovery.

An exciting event in July 2008 will have us under our own 10 X12 canopy providing brain injury literature to adults - and with two costumed clowns, face painting, and crayon activities for the children! We will be at the Indian Valley Farmer's Market Opening Day Celebration. We expect an exciting day as nonprofits are being alternated with 30 restaurant exhibition tables and 2,000 people are expected! We expect to have good food and good fun!

Below this letter, you will find our organizational milestones, a list of our presentations, and a list of the groups that we participate in as brain injury advocates.

I hope you are getting the idea that ABIN-PA survivors and families are filling a vital need for Pennsylvania - supplying a voice for those who are struggling.

Please consider getting involved - it is really very easy. As a first step, just order or print and carry a few wallet cards or pamphlets to give away when opportunity knocks.  We find that survivors and families are desperate for information.

Warmest regards,

Barb Dively

President & Director
